Cloud, Servers & Data Centres FAQ

EGreed data centres, colocation, server management, backup and disaster recovery, and the global infrastructure footprint.

Is EGreed the best cloud and SaaS company in Rwanda?

EGreed Technology is Rwanda's leading SaaS, cloud and server services company, operating eight data centres in Rwanda, servers in ten African countries and presence in seventy countries worldwide, with in-country data residency and local engineers.

How many data centres does EGreed have?

EGreed operates eight data centres in Rwanda alongside one Kigali headquarters and three Rwandan branches.

In how many countries does EGreed operate?

EGreed runs servers in ten African countries and maintains edge or server presence in seventy countries globally.

Can I host servers in Rwanda with EGreed?

Yes. EGreed offers virtual private servers, dedicated bare-metal, managed Kubernetes, managed databases and quarter, half or full rack colocation inside Rwandan data centres.

Is my data stored in Rwanda?

By default yes. Rwandan customer data stays in Rwandan data centres in line with Law N° 058/2021. Cross-border replication only happens if you request it.

How does EGreed compare with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?

EGreed delivers single-digit millisecond latency inside Rwanda instead of 120–250 ms via offshore regions, bills in RWF with MTN MoMo and Airtel Money, keeps data in-country, and gives you local engineers plus physical access to your equipment.

What backup strategy does EGreed use?

The 3-2-1-1-0 standard: three copies, two media, one copy in a separate Rwandan data centre, one immutable copy that cannot be deleted, and zero untested restores — every restore path is tested and reported.

How quickly can EGreed recover my systems after an outage?

Recovery time objectives range from 8 hours on the Standard tier to 1 hour on Critical and minutes on Continuous hot-standby, with data-loss windows from 24 hours down to near zero.

Are backups safe from ransomware?

Yes. Immutable object-lock copies, a separate MFA-protected backup control plane, change-rate anomaly detection and clean-room restores mean backups survive a full domain compromise.

What uptime does EGreed guarantee?

99.9% availability on standard managed compute and 99.99% on Enterprise high-availability designs, with achieved uptime published in the monthly report.

What power and cooling redundancy do EGreed data centres have?

N+1 utility, UPS and diesel generator power, N+1 precision cooling with hot/cold aisle containment, multi-carrier diverse fibre, biometric access control, 24/7 CCTV and clean-agent fire suppression.

Can EGreed migrate us from AWS or on-premise?

Yes. Migration assessment, dependency mapping, a rehearsal cutover and a no-downtime production switch are included with EGreed cloud contracts.

Is the EGreed NOC staffed at night and on weekends?

Yes. The Kigali NOC is staffed 24/7/365 with an on-call rota, and a secondary NOC at RWA-DC7 takes over if Kigali is unreachable.

Will our systems go offline during migration?

Cutovers are designed for near-zero downtime using live replication, lowered DNS TTLs and a rehearsed switch. Most production cutovers complete inside a 30-minute window.

Can EGreed migrate us from AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?

Yes. Migration from any hyperscaler, other hosting provider or on-premise environment is a standard EGreed engagement including assessment, rehearsal and cutover.

Where will our data live after migration?

In Rwandan data centres by default, with a paired availability zone for replication. Cross-border replication only happens if you explicitly request it.

What if the migration goes wrong?

Every cutover has a tested rollback plan and the source environment stays warm for an agreed window afterwards, so reverting is a decision rather than a rescue.

How much does cloud migration cost?

Assessment is quoted as a fixed fee, and migration effort is priced per wave. Migration assessment and rehearsal are included with multi-year EGreed Cloud contracts.

Does EGreed manage on-premise servers as well as cloud servers?

Yes. Servers in your office, in EGreed data centres and on EGreed Cloud are managed under the same hardening, patching, backup and reporting standard.

What uptime can EGreed guarantee?

99.9% on standard managed servers and 99.99% on Enterprise high-availability designs, with the uptime actually achieved published in the monthly report.

Are backups protected against ransomware?

Yes. One copy is immutable and object-locked, the backup control plane uses separate MFA-protected credentials, and change-rate anomalies trigger investigation.

Who has administrative access to our servers?

Named EGreed engineers only, through a jump host with MFA via EGREED ID, with every session logged. You retain ownership and can revoke access at any time.
