What is EGREED ID?

EGREED ID is the secure digital identity platform that lets users access every EGREED service with one trusted account. It provides enterprise-grade authentication, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, passkeys, device management, privacy controls, and OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect for developers.

How do I get started with EGREED ID?

Create a free EGreed account, open EGREED ID at https://id.egreedtech.org, and follow the in-product quick start.

How much does EGREED ID cost?

EGREED ID has a free tier with generous limits. Paid plans start at 12,000 FRW / ~$10 per month, with Business and Enterprise tiers available. Pay with MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, card, or bank transfer.

Is there a free plan for EGREED ID?

Yes — EGREED ID includes a free tier so you can try every core feature before upgrading.

Does EGREED ID have an API?

Which SDKs does EGREED ID support?

How do I authenticate with EGREED ID?

Is EGREED ID secure?

Yes — EGREED ID uses AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, MFA, SSO, audit logs, and Rwanda Data Protection Law compliance.

Where is EGREED ID data stored?

EGREED ID data is stored in Rwanda by default, with optional regional and global replication for enterprise customers.

Does EGREED ID support Kinyarwanda?

Yes — EGREED ID supports English, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, and French in the UI and, where applicable, in AI models and voice.

Can I use EGREED ID on mobile?

Yes — EGREED ID is fully responsive on mobile browsers and available as iOS and Android apps.

Can I use EGREED ID on desktop?

Yes — EGREED ID runs on any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and offers native desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

How do I upgrade my EGREED ID plan?

Open Billing → Plans in your workspace, choose a new plan, and confirm payment. Upgrades take effect immediately.

How do I downgrade my EGREED ID plan?

Open Billing → Plans → Change plan. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

How do I cancel my EGREED ID subscription?

Open Billing → Subscription → Cancel. Your workspace stays on the paid plan until the current period ends.

Can I pay for EGREED ID with MTN Mobile Money?

Yes — EGREED ID accepts MTN MoMo (Mobile Money) for all Rwandan customers, in addition to Airtel Money, cards, and bank transfer.

Can I pay for EGREED ID with Airtel Money?

Yes — Airtel Money is supported alongside MTN MoMo, Visa/Mastercard, and bank transfers.

Does EGREED ID offer refunds?

Yes — a 14-day refund window applies to new paid subscriptions. Contact billing@egreedtech.org.

Does EGREED ID support SSO?

Yes — SAML 2.0 and OIDC single sign-on are available on Business and Enterprise plans.

Does EGREED ID support 2FA?

Yes — two-factor authentication via authenticator app, SMS, or hardware security key is available on every plan.

How do I invite my team to EGREED ID?

Open Workspace → Members → Invite, enter their emails, and pick a role. Invited users get an email invite valid for 7 days.

What roles does EGREED ID support?

Owner, Admin, Member, and Viewer, with optional custom roles on Enterprise plans.

How do I remove a user from EGREED ID?

Open Workspace → Members, find the user, and click Remove. Their access is revoked immediately.

Can I export my EGREED ID data?

Yes — every workspace can export its data as JSON, CSV, or the product's native format from Settings → Export.

How do I delete my EGREED ID data?

Open Settings → Privacy → Delete Data. Deletion is permanent after the 30-day recovery window.

Is EGREED ID HIPAA-compliant?

EGREED ID follows HIPAA-aligned security controls. Signed BAAs are available for eligible healthcare customers on Enterprise plans.

What are EGREED ID rate limits?

Standard plans: 60 requests per minute per API key. Business: 600. Enterprise: custom. Bursts up to 2x are allowed briefly.

Does EGREED ID have webhooks?

Yes — every product publishes events over signed webhooks. Configure endpoints in Developer → Webhooks.

How do I monitor EGREED ID usage?

Open Insights in your workspace for real-time usage, quotas, and cost breakdowns.

Does EGREED ID have a status page?

Yes — status.egreedtech.org publishes real-time uptime and incident data.

How do I migrate to EGREED ID?

Can I self-host EGREED ID?

Why is EGREED ID slow?

Check status.egreedtech.org, your network connection, and try switching regions in Settings. If it persists, open a support ticket with a trace ID from Developer → Diagnostics.

What browsers does EGREED ID support?

The latest two versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Brave.

How do I add a custom domain to EGREED ID?

Open Settings → Domains, add your domain, and follow the DNS verification steps. Setup usually completes in under 10 minutes.

What is an EGREED ID?

An EGREED ID is your single, secure digital identity for every EGREED Technology service — EGREED AI, Cloud, Mail, Drive, Deploy, Locate, IBONA, Learn and more. One account, one password, one security dashboard.

How do I create an EGREED ID?

Go to id.egreedtech.org, choose Create account, enter your email or phone number, verify the code we send you, set a strong password, and complete your profile.

Is creating an EGREED ID free?

Yes. Creating an EGREED ID is completely free. You only pay for the individual EGREED products or plans you choose to use.

Can I create an EGREED ID with a phone number?

Yes. You can register with a Rwandan or international mobile number and verify it by SMS. You can add an email address later for recovery.

What are the password requirements for EGREED ID?

At least 12 characters with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Passwords are checked against known breach lists and common patterns are rejected.

Do I need to verify my email address?

Yes. Email verification protects your account and unlocks recovery, billing and security notifications. The verification link expires after 24 hours.

How long does phone verification take?

The SMS code usually arrives within a few seconds. If it does not arrive in two minutes, request a new code or switch to email verification.

Can I have more than one EGREED ID?

Yes, but we recommend one personal ID and separate organization accounts for work. Each ID needs its own unique email address or phone number.

Can I change the email on my EGREED ID?

Yes. Open Profile → Email, add the new address, verify it, then set it as primary. The old address remains as a recovery option unless you remove it.

Can I change my username or display name?

Yes. Display names can be changed at any time from Profile. Your unique EGREED ID handle can be changed once every 30 days.

What do I have to accept when I register?

You accept the EGREED Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, which explain how your identity data is used and protected under Rwandan Law N° 058/2021.

What is Single Sign-On (SSO) in EGREED ID?

SSO means one authenticated session works across every EGREED service. Sign in once and move between EGREED AI, Cloud, Mail and Deploy without signing in again.

What are passkeys?

Passkeys are cryptographic credentials stored on your device and unlocked with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a device PIN. They cannot be phished or reused.

What does Remember this device do?

It marks the device as trusted so you are not asked for MFA on every sign-in. You can revoke trust at any time from Security → Devices.

Will I be notified when someone signs in?

Yes. EGREED ID sends a login notification by email and push whenever a new device, browser or country is used.

Why am I asked to verify my identity when signing in?

Step-up verification triggers on unusual signals such as a new device, new country, impossible travel or a sensitive action like changing your password.

How long does an EGREED ID session last?

Standard sessions last 30 days on trusted devices and 24 hours on public or unrecognised devices. Enterprise administrators can shorten these limits.

Can I sign out of all devices at once?

Yes. Open Security → Sessions → Sign out everywhere. All refresh tokens are revoked immediately.

How do I change my password?

Open Security → Password, enter your current password, then the new one. You are asked to re-authenticate and all other sessions are signed out.

How often should I change my password?

Only when you suspect compromise. A long unique password protected by MFA is safer than frequent rotation.

Does EGREED ID work with password managers?

Yes. EGREED ID follows the WebAuthn and autofill standards and works with 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager and others.

What happens if my password appears in a data breach?

EGREED ID checks credentials against known breach corpora and forces a reset with a security alert if a match is found.

Can I reuse an old password?

No. EGREED ID keeps a hashed history of your recent passwords and blocks reuse.

What is multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

MFA requires a second proof of identity in addition to your password — an authenticator code, security key, passkey or push approval.

How do I enable MFA on EGREED ID?

Open Security → Multi-factor authentication, choose a method, follow the setup, then store your backup codes safely.

Which authenticator apps are supported?

Any TOTP app works, including Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password and Aegis.

Does EGREED ID support hardware security keys?

Yes. FIDO2 and U2F keys such as YubiKey, Titan and SoloKeys are supported for the strongest phishing-resistant protection.

What are backup codes?

Backup codes are ten single-use codes issued when you enable MFA. Each one can replace your second factor once if you lose your device.

What if I lose my MFA device?

Use a backup code, an alternate factor, or start identity verification with recovery contacts. Enterprise users can ask an administrator to reset MFA.

Is SMS MFA secure?

SMS is better than no MFA but is vulnerable to SIM swapping. We recommend passkeys, authenticator apps or hardware keys instead.

Can my organization require MFA?

Yes. Organization administrators can enforce MFA, restrict allowed methods and require phishing-resistant factors for privileged roles.

I forgot my password — what do I do?

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page. We send a time-limited reset link to your verified email or a code to your recovery phone.

What is a recovery email?

A secondary address used to regain access and receive security alerts if your primary email is unavailable.

What is a recovery phone?

A trusted mobile number that can receive verification codes during account recovery. Keep it current.

How long does account recovery take?

Automatic recovery is instant. Manual identity verification with our team typically completes within 24 to 72 hours.

What if I lost access to everything?

Submit a recovery request with proof of identity such as a government ID, prior device details and billing records. Our team reviews it manually.

Can a deleted EGREED ID be restored?

Yes, within the 30-day grace period. After 30 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Will recovery unlock my encrypted data?

End-to-end encrypted data protected by a private key that only you hold cannot be recovered by EGREED. Store your recovery key safely.

How does EGREED ID protect my account?

Argon2id password hashing, TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, anomaly detection, device fingerprinting, rate limiting, breach monitoring and continuous audit logging.

What is a security alert?

A real-time notification about a new sign-in, a password or MFA change, a new connected app, or a recovery attempt on your account.

How do I know an email from EGREED is genuine?

Genuine mail comes from @egreedtech.org with DMARC alignment, never asks for your password or MFA code, and links only to egreedtech.org domains.

What should I do if I receive a phishing message?

Do not click. Forward it to security@egreedtech.org, then change your password and review active sessions.

Does EGREED ever ask for my password?

Never. EGREED staff will never ask for your password, MFA code, backup codes or recovery key.

How do I report a security vulnerability?

Email security@egreedtech.org with details and proof of concept. We follow coordinated disclosure and operate a responsible-disclosure programme.

How do I see the devices signed in to my account?

Open Security → Devices to see every device with its name, platform, location and last-active time.

How do I remove a device?

Select the device and choose Sign out or Remove. Its tokens are revoked immediately and it must authenticate again.

Can I rename a device?

Yes. Select the device, choose Rename, and give it a label such as Work laptop or Kigali phone.

What is a trusted device?

A device you have verified and marked as trusted, so routine sign-ins skip MFA prompts while sensitive actions still require verification.

What happens if my device is stolen?

Sign out everywhere, revoke the device, change your password, rotate backup codes and review connected apps and login history.

What personal data does EGREED ID store?

Your name, email, phone, profile photo, language, security settings, device and session metadata, and audit logs of account activity.

Can I download my data?

Yes. Privacy → Download your data creates an export archive of your identity data, delivered by secure link within 24 hours.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete individual items such as login history and connected apps, or request full account deletion.

How do I delete my EGREED ID?

Privacy → Delete account. You re-authenticate, confirm, and the account enters a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion.

Does EGREED sell my data?

No. EGREED Technology does not sell personal data to third parties.

Is EGREED ID compliant with data protection law?

Yes. EGREED ID complies with Rwanda Law N° 058/2021 on personal data protection and aligns with GDPR principles.

Where is my identity data stored?

In Rwanda by default, with optional regional replication for enterprise customers who require it.

What are connected applications?

Third-party or EGREED apps you have authorised to access parts of your account through OAuth 2.0 scopes.

How do I revoke an app's access?

Open Connected apps, select the application and choose Revoke access. Its tokens stop working immediately.

What are OAuth scopes?

Granular permissions such as profile:read, email:read or drive:write that limit exactly what a connected app can do.

Does EGREED ID support OpenID Connect?

Yes. EGREED ID is a certified-style OpenID Connect provider exposing discovery, authorization, token, userinfo and JWKS endpoints.

What are API tokens?

Long-lived credentials for server-to-server access, scoped, revocable and rotatable from Developer → Tokens.

Does EGREED ID support SAML for enterprises?

Yes. Enterprise organizations can federate with SAML 2.0 identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta and Google Workspace.

What is an organization account?

A workspace identity that groups members, enforces security policies, manages roles and centralises billing across EGREED products.
