How to create an EGREED ID — step-by-step registration guide
Step-by-step instructions to register an EGREED ID: sign-up, email verification, password requirements, profile setup, recovery email, phone verification and accepting the terms.

Step 1 — Registration
- Open id.egreedtech.org and choose Create account.
- Enter your email address or mobile number.
- Enter your full name as you want it to appear across EGREED services.
- Choose your preferred language — English, Kinyarwanda, Swahili or French.
- Select Continue.
Step 2 — Email verification
We send a six-digit code and a verification link to your address. Enter the code or click the link within 24 hours. If it does not arrive, check spam and then request a new code.
Step 3 — Password requirements
- Minimum 12 characters
- At least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- At least one number and one symbol
- Not found in known breach corpora
- Not similar to your name, email or previous passwords
A password manager is strongly recommended. You can also skip the password entirely and register a passkey.
Step 4 — Profile setup
Add a profile photo, display name, time zone, country and optional organization. This profile is what other EGREED users see when you share files or collaborate.
Step 5 — Recovery email
Add a second email address that you control. It is used only for account recovery and security alerts, and must be verified to become active.
Step 6 — Phone verification
Add and verify a mobile number by SMS. A verified phone enables SMS recovery, MoMo and Airtel Money billing, and faster identity checks.
Step 7 — Accepting the terms
Review and accept the EGREED Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Both explain your rights under Rwanda Law N° 058/2021 on personal data protection.
Step 8 — Secure your new account
Immediately enable MFA and download your backup codes. Continue with the Security Center.

How do I create an EGREED ID?
Go to id.egreedtech.org, choose Create account, enter your email or phone number, verify the code we send you, set a strong password, and complete your profile.
Is creating an EGREED ID free?
Yes. Creating an EGREED ID is completely free. You only pay for the individual EGREED products or plans you choose to use.
Can I create an EGREED ID with a phone number?
Yes. You can register with a Rwandan or international mobile number and verify it by SMS. You can add an email address later for recovery.
Can I sign up with Google?
Yes. EGREED ID supports federated sign-up with Google. Your EGREED ID is still created and remains yours even if you later disconnect Google.
What are the password requirements for EGREED ID?
At least 12 characters with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Passwords are checked against known breach lists and common patterns are rejected.
Do I need to verify my email address?
Yes. Email verification protects your account and unlocks recovery, billing and security notifications. The verification link expires after 24 hours.
How long does phone verification take?
The SMS code usually arrives within a few seconds. If it does not arrive in two minutes, request a new code or switch to email verification.
Can I have more than one EGREED ID?
Yes, but we recommend one personal ID and separate organization accounts for work. Each ID needs its own unique email address or phone number.
Can I change the email on my EGREED ID?
Yes. Open Profile → Email, add the new address, verify it, then set it as primary. The old address remains as a recovery option unless you remove it.
Can I change my username or display name?
Yes. Display names can be changed at any time from Profile. Your unique EGREED ID handle can be changed once every 30 days.
What do I have to accept when I register?
You accept the EGREED Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, which explain how your identity data is used and protected under Rwandan Law N° 058/2021.
